Waiting for the Weather Window

All days aboard a sail boat cannot be blue skies, fair winds and following seas.  Today we are holed up in the harbor, the wind gusting between 25 and 35 knots. The days of the winter winds is part of the pattern here, and when they are blowing there is nothing to do but wait for the weather pattern to break .As the winds have shut down the electricity, even the Laundromat is not an optional activity.  We have changed the oil, organized the storage under the floorboards and are now doing many hours of afternoon reading, which will be followed by dinner and many more hours of reading. Our goal is to get a weather window to sail to Spanish Wells on Friday. This will be a major crossing South. We go out through Little Harbor and then leave the Abacos headed for Eleuthera.
